Lehighton man misses out on a ‘fortune’ by $250

He came this close.

Lehighton native Tegan Durishin competed on “Wheel of Fortune” Friday and came up $250 short of winning it all.

It started slow for the 24-year-old underwriting assistant.

His first spin hit on “lose a turn” and then he picked a bankrupt card. But when his next turn came around he guessed the phrase “Wonderful Dining Experience” followed by “Days and Nights” and “Pros and Cons.” He ended with $15,000, which included a trip to Cozumel, Mexico.

However, Kristin Jones of Boston grabbed the lead with $15,250. She added to that with $40,000 in the bonus round.

In an interview earlier this week, Durishin said it was a great experience, an adventure that will stick with him forever.

“It’s not really about the money, it’s about the experience,” he said. “That’s what’s great in itself.”
