Local Roundup: Results from Jan. 13

The Pleasant Valley boys and Northern Lehigh girls both posted wins in action Friday.

The Bears gained a victory on their Hall of Fame night, while the Bulldogs ran their winning streak to three games.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Stroudsburg-Pleasant Vy.

Pleasant Valley gained a 47-41 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over rival Stroudsburg on its Hall of Fame night.

The Bears welcomed five new members into its latest class.

Austin Ratti and Zach Prator helped make the evening more enjoyable as both finished with 12 points. The winners also received eight points from Patrick Moore.

The Mounties received a game-high 14 points from Micaiah Brown.

PV improved to 6-7 overall and 4-6 in the EPC, while Stroudsburg dropped to 4-10 and 1-9.

Moravian Aca.-No. Lehigh

Northern Lehigh was bidding for its second win in a row, but Moravian Academy used a big fourth quarter to gain a 58-37 Colonial League victory.

The Bulldogs trailed by just six points heading into the final frame, but the Lions closed out the win with a 19-4 period.

Joseph Phillips collected a game-high 17 points for Moravian, while Tayden Miller added 14.

Northern Lehigh received 10 points from three different players - Bryce LoPinto, Connor Simms and Coy Daubert.

The win lifted the Lions record to 6-7 overall and 4-7 in the league. The Dawgs slipped to 1-14 and 1-10.

Northern Lehigh won its third straight game by edging Moravain Academy, 35-33, in a Colonial League contest.

Dakota Bathold scored a team-high 10 points - eight of them coming in the second half - to lead the Bulldogs. The winners also received eight points from Katelynn Barthold.

For the Lions, Gianna Tout-Puissant tallied a game-high 11 points.

Nolehi, which has won six of its last seven games, is now 10-5 overall and 6-4 in the league. Moravian dropped to 5-7 and 5-6.

Tamaqua-Blue Mountain

Skylynne Hardy led a balanced attack with 11 points as Blue Mountain rolled to a 60-29 Schuylkill League victory over Tamaqua.

The Eagles (12-2, 7-1) exploded for 22 first-quarter points and cruised the rest of the way.

For Tamaqua (3-11, 0-7), Makayla Bartenope led the way with eight points.

Lourdes-Weatherly

Lourdes pulled away from Weatherly to gain a 41-17 Schuylkill League victory.

Paitin Moyer scored a game-high 10 points for the Red Raiders, who limited the Wreckers to just five field goals.

The winners, now 3-2 in the league, also received eight points from both Masie Reed and Victoria Lindenmuth.

For Weatherly, who fell to 3-8 overall and 0-6 in the league, Emma Kane and Kelly Reiner both finished with six points.
