Tamaqua split a Schuylkill League swim meet with North Schuylkill.

The Raider boys cruised to a win, while the Spartan girls held off Tamaqua.

SWIMMING

North Schuylkill-Tamaqua

Tamaqua and North Schuylkill split its Schuylkill League meet.

The Blue Raider boys cruised to a 122-30 victory, while the Spartans pulled out a 101-84 win in girls action.

Stephen Behun (100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke), Jathan Krall (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) and Mia Jones (50 freestyle, diving) all had multiple individual wins for Tamaqua.

The Raiders also received wins from Lexi Buchala (100 butterfly), Jack Tharp (200 IM), Vincenzo Valentine (diving), Jacon Hehn (100 butterfly) and Brandon Long (100 backstroke).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

N. Schuylkill-Jim Thorpe

Maddy Wetzel poured in 31 points to lead North Schuylkill to a 66-32 Schuylkill League victory over Jim Thorpe.

The Spartans, who led by 25 points at halftime, also received 15 points from Kamryn Mengel.

Mackenzie Yuhas paced the Olympians (6-4; 2-3) with 10 points.

North Schuylkill is now 9-2 overall and remained undefeated in league play at 6-0.

Pine Grove-Lehighton

Pine Grove won its third straight game, defeating Lehighton 42-25 in Schuylkill League action.

Kailen Felty led the Cardinals (6-5; 3-3) with eight points.

The Indians, who dropped to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the league, received a game-high nine points from Olivia Serfass.

Pleasant Valley-Emmaus

Emmaus cruised to a 55-22 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over visiting Pleasant Valley.

Paige Inman led three Green Hornets in double-digit scoring with 12 points. Olivia Whitney added 11 and Cassandra Doemling finished with 10.

For the Bears, who trailed by only four points after the first quarter, Aryn Stivala collected a team-high 11 points.

Emmaus is now 10-3 overall and 7-1 in the EPC. PV fell to 3-9 and 3-5.

Shenandoah Valley’s Maddie Masser made four key free throws down the stretch to help her team pull out a 35-32 Schuylkill League victory over Weatherly.

The Wreckers jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the game, but couldn’t maintain the advantage.

Masser finished with a team-high 13 points as the Blue Devils upped their overall record to 7-7 and their league mark to 3-2.

Weatherly, now 3-7 and 0-5, received a game-high 15 points from Bethany Houser.
