Schuylkill County Court

Schuylkill County Judge Christopher Hobbs recently ruled on three cases involving local police.

Donna S. Schuebel, 57, of Tamaqua. was charged by borough police officer Douglas L. Springer Jr. with possession/sale/use of display documents and permitting a violation of title on July 14, 2022.

Judge Christopher Hobbs accepted her guilty plea and agreed to change the first charge to a summary offense from a misdemeanor.

He fined her $25, ordered her to pay court costs, and fined her a total of $77.

Charges of theft, criminal mischief, and conspiracy against Thomas M. Schaub, 43, of Lehighton, were dropped on Dec. 30, 2022 by Judge Hobbs, who granted the motion by the District Attorney’s Office.

Schaub will pay court costs.

He had been charged on Jan. 27, 2021 by Orwigsburg Police Officer Vincent J. McDonald.

Arnold Martinez, 42, of Lancaster, was charged by Tamaqua police officer Andrew J. Seip with use/possession of drug paraphernalia, giving false identification to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness on March 12, 2022.

Hobbs accepted his guilty plea to the possession charge, and placed him on probation for 12 months and pay a $50 monthly supervision fee. Hobbs also ordered Martinez a total of $150 in fees.

The remaining charges were dropped.
