A 20-year-old Allentown man was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, after he was arrested following a traffic stop conducted by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said he was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code while driving a 2008 Infiniti G35 on Lehigh Drive in Palmerton. Police said it was suspected he was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

Police said he was unlawfully in possession of a firearm that had an obliterated serial number on it.
