Eldred Board

The Eldred Township board of supervisors will meet tonight at 7 p.m. as per usual. Then the office will be closed until the following Wednesday.

The office will also be closed on Jan. 2, 2023. Normal business hours will resume the following day.

The annual organizational meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Jan. 3.

Eucharist series

Tonight the third and final part of the Advent series on the Eucharist will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace church.

Legion closing

American Legion Post 927 will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and will stay closed all day on Christmas Day.

Christmas services

Cornerstone Church, Kresgeville, is holding two services on Christmas Eve, at 5 and 7 p.m. There will be one service on Christmas Day, at 10:30 a.m.

Effort UMC will hold Christmas Eve services at 4, 6 and 8 p.m. On Christmas Day there will be a 10 a.m. service.

McMichaels Methodist will hold its Christmas Eve service at 4 p.m. and at 9:30 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Middlecreek Christian will hold its Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. and a Christmas Day service at 10:30 a.m. The New Year’s Day service will also be at 10:30 a.m.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Brodheadsville, will hold Mass at 4 p.m., 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Christmas Eve. There will be an 11 a.m. Mass on Christmas Day.

Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, Brodheadsville, will have Christmas Eve Service at 4:30 p.m. There will be no service on Christmas Day or on New Year’s Day.

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, will hold two Christmas Eve services, the first at 2:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. The Christmas Day service will be at 10:30 p.m.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effort, will hold a candlelight service at 7 p.m., Christmas Eve. There will be no service on Christmas Day.

St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and a regular service on Sunday, Christmas Day, at 10 a.m.

Zion Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, is holding a Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.

On Christmas Day there will only be one service, at 10 a.m.

Masks are optional for in-person worship.

The services will also be broadcast on Zion’s Facebook page.

Legion calendar

On Monday, American Legion post 927 is hosting two events, one beginning at 6 p.m.

The West End Home Association is holding its weekly Monday Night Football event and also the Meat Raffle Mondays beginning at 6 p.m.

The bingo night is slated to resume in January.

Jam session

Music lovers among local musicians are invited to participate in the jam sessions held at St. Peter’s UMC on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, with the next meeting being Dec. 27.

All who love music, as a instrumentalist, vocalist, or enthusiast, are welcome for coffee and a time of fellowship.

Eldred tax office

The Tax Office in Eldred will be open regular receiving hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 to 5 p.m. and Special Hours on Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for final tax payments of 2022.

Donating blood

Just a reminder that the Miller-Keystone blood drives are the second and fourth and Monday in the Western Pocono Community Library track area and appointments must be made directly with Miller-Keystone.
