Christmas Eve worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 South 3rd St., Lehighton, Family worship with Holy Communion and children’s sermon begins at 6 p.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues.

Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, you are encouraged to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. In addition, wear a mask if you feel uneasy about being in a group setting. At 9 p.m., Candlelight worship with Holy Communion. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides.

The church office will be closed Dec. 26.

In the event of inclement weather impacting worship, please check the church’s Facebook page, WFMZ-TV (Channel 69), or listen to a recorded message on the church office phone number within two hours of the worship service.

Sunday school classes for students ages 3 through grade 6 and confirmation classes will resume Jan. 8 at 10:45 a.m.

The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

Trinity Thrift Store is scheduled to be open for its last day of 2022 business Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wintry weather may force a closure. Otherwise, the Thrift Store will be closed Dec. 24-31. Thrift store hours resume Jan. 4, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. No donation drop-offs will be accepted during the closure. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trinitythriftstore.

Looking ahead as events continue in 2023 to observe Trinity’s 150th anniversary: family style covered dish dinner w/ entertainment by “The Amazing Magi” Feb. 4 afternoon, youth-featured worship March 26 at 9:30 a.m., Concert April 16 at 11:15 a.m., anniversary festival worship June 4 at 3 p.m. followed by a catered meal. The next planning meeting is Jan. 15 at 12:15 p.m. for anyone desiring to participate.
