December 16, 1966 - Dennis Balliet pours in a game-high 26 points and Jim Thorpe uses a huge fourth quarter to pull away from Lehighton for a 72-52 victory. Leading by just two points entering the final period, the Olympians outscore the Indians by a 27-9 margin over the final eight minutes. Jerry Huggler starts a 15-2 run with a pair of field goals, while Mike Tessitore adds a couple baskets during that stretch. Thorpe, coached by Phil Rader, also receives 13 points from Eugene Sweeney while Tessitore ends with 11. Clem McGinley chips in with 10. Lehighton’s Rich Beyer tallies a team-high 21 points.
