Slatington has approved a new four-year contract with its police department.

On a unanimous measure, borough council on Monday ratified the revised four-year agreement with the Slatington Police Association.

The agreement runs from Jan. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2026.

After the meeting, borough Manager Dan Stevens said he couldn’t release the agreement until its signed.

“Until the agreement is signed, it’s still a work in progress,” Stevens said.

Police accept donation

Also on Monday, borough police officer William Brost, on behalf of the Slatington Police Association, accepted a $2,095 donation from Abel Boyer, owner, A.F. Boyer Hardware and Guns, Slatington, as part of the Back the Blue fundraiser.
