NL superintendent thankful for contributions

Northern Lehigh School District Superintendent Matthew J. Link reported at Monday’s school board meeting about good things happening in the district.

First, Link shared the district’s gratitude to the Social Ministry at the Union Lutheran Church in Schnecksville.

“Over the past few months, they have donated school supplies and clothing to be shared with our students,” Link said. “Again, we’re always very appreciative of the community groups that support our students and staff.”

Link also acknowledged the Northern Lehigh School District Education Foundation, who he said this past Saturday hosted its annual Breakfast with Santa at Peters Elementary School.

“It was a great success, a very enjoyable morning for the little children, for our student helpers, and actually for all the parents and adults and the Education Foundation that made it a great event again this year,” he said.

Link also recognized the Slatington Elementary School Band.

“This past Friday evening, they gave a remarkable performance at the Slatington Tree Lighting Ceremony, under the direction of Mr. (Steven) Jonkman, and our elementary band members and a few of our high school band members that were there to support,” he said.

“It was a very fun evening with a great performance.”
