Pet enthusiasts turn out for Bark in the Park

Sunday’s steady drizzle and rain wasn’t enough to keep the paws away from the second annual Bark in the Park fundraiser at Locust Lake State Park in Barnesville.

The event, organized by the Friends of Tuscarora and Locust Lake State Parks, brought dozens of dogs and their humans to enjoy a host of activities.

“It is a pretty good turnout considering the weather,” said Jennifer Holman, a Friends board member who arrived with her dogs, Hadley and Mischa.

There were vendors, food trucks, pet photographers, a pet blessing and visits from animal rescue groups.

Proceeds benefited the Friends group to support the mission to inspire stewardship and to sustain and enhance Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests. As at 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, contributions and donations to the program are fully tax deductible. Donations can be made at: http://bit.ly/donatetofriendsoftll.
