Bingo’s back at Packerton church

Zion Lutheran Church of Packerton had its first bingo games in almost three years because of the pandemic.

“We haven’t had one since 2019,” said church member and volunteer Susie Reed of Saturday’s event. “We did have a basket auction this past spring. All the proceeds benefit our church.”

The biannual bingo had been a major fundraiser for the church. The event, held at the Mahoning Ambulance Association Building, included bingo, a basket auction, a bake sale, 50/50, door prizes, and food from the Ambulance Association kitchen.

“I want to thank all of you for coming out and supporting our church and congregation,” Pastor Emma Weaver said.

Reed said the church is expecting to have a gift card bingo in the spring, the date will be determined later.
