Northern Lehigh School Board
Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following action on Monday, Sept. 12:
• Administration to enter into an agreement for the coordination of care between Lehigh and Northampton counties, Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania, Inc., and Northern Lehigh School District to administer the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Behavioral HealthChoices program for mental health and drug and alcohol services provided to students and families. The term of the agreements are to remain unless terminated by either party.
• The Local Education Agency Commitment Agreement for the P2G Program.
• To designate and authorize Frank Gnas, school police officer, Dave Jones, school police officer, James Schnyderite, principal, Peters Elementary School, Todd Breiner, principal, Slatington Elementary School, David Hauser, principal, Northern Lehigh Middle School, John Rushefski, acting principal, Northern Lehigh High School, and Michael Strohl, secondary assistant principal, to sign summary offense notices for district students for the 2022-2023 school year, after consultation with Superintendent Matthew J. Link. Director Robin Distler abstained from the vote.
• Approved Christina McShane as helping teacher for inductee Michelle Siesko, $200 stipend, and Sarah Fink, as helping teacher for inductee Justin Fritz, $200 stipend.
• Link to attend the CLIU Superintendent Retreat in Hershey, Nov. 9/11, at no cost to the district.
• Link to attend the 2023 PDE Data Summit in Hershey, March 27-29, at a total cost of $1,101, to be paid for through Assistant Superintendent Tania Stoker’s budget.
• An expulsion hearing waiver for student #2590128. The student and guardian have agreed to waive their right to a formal expulsion hearing in front of the school board and have also agreed to disciplinary action outlined in the waiver.
