Tamaqua Library

The Tamaqua Public Library, at 30 S. Railroad St., is celebrating National Library Card Signup Month.

Throughout September, families or children who sign up for their first Tamaqua Public Library card will be entered to win four one-day admission tickets to Legoland New York resort - a $319 value.

A current photo ID with a current address or address change is required. There’s something special for current patrons, too. Card holders will be given a chance to win four tickets to the DaVinci Science Center every time they check out a book. The chances are limited to one entry per family per book check out.

The library will be starting its Fall Story Time sessions in September for children up to 5 years old.

The program offers eight weeks of stories and crafts, with a different fall theme each week.

The sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. beginning Wednesday, Sept. 21 or Thursday, Sept. 22.

The library’s Teen Program begins Sept. 9.

The sessions, which are free of charge, will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Learn how to make upcycled tote bags from T-shirts, which will be provided. You may also bring additional T-shirts with you.

To register for sessions, please call the library at 570-668-4660 or visit the front desk.
