State police at Fern Ridge

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:

• On Aug. 14, troopers were dispatched to Mountain Spring Drive in Jackson Township, Monroe County, for a domestic dispute. An investigation determined that Christopher Amos Keiper, 27, of Stroudsburg, struck a 26-year-old man from Cresco, multiple times in the head, face, mouth, neck and body with a metal pipe after an argument.

Keiper fled the scene before troopers arrived. A warrant was issued for Keiper and he turned himself into the barracks on Aug. 15. He was charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, three counts; and one count each of recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief, and a summary offense of harassment.

He was arraigned before a district judge and later released after posting $20,000 bail.

• On Aug. 25, troopers were dispatched to the West End Fairgrounds, Fairground Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a 56-year-old man from Effort, who troopers declined to identify, had made comments to workers at the fair, threatening to put on a firework display and “blow up” the Effort firehouse.

He was taken into custody and charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

• On Aug. 23, troopers responded to Kinsley’s Shop Rite store in Chestnuthill Township, for a retail theft report. Troopers said the incident occurred on Aug. 22 when a suspect was observed by video surveillance taking several items of over-the-counter medicine and placing them inside a brown purse and leaving the store without paying for them. The total loss to the store was $1,614.48.

• On Aug. 27, troopers responded to Wylie Drive in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a reported disturbance. Troopers said an argument had taken place between two family members over trash, bills and other matters in the home.

Two men, ages 37 and 54, of Albrightsville, who troopers declined to identify, were each cited for harassment.
