Northwestern boys soccer coach Nate Hunsicker earned a milestone victory on Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

Northwestern-NDGP

Northwestern handed head coach Nate Hunsicker his 200th-career coaching victory by earning a 5-0 Colonial League win over host Notre Dame of Green Pond.

Matt Johnson led the Tigers with a hat trick and an assist, while Issac Frey and Josh Zellner both contributed single goals. Jake van Lierop, Jack Mauro and Cayden Fitch all had assists.

Northwestern goalie Damian Krapf made five saves to record the shutout.

Northwestern remains unbeaten at 3-0 overall (1-0 CL), while Notre Dame falls to 1-1 (1-0) on the season.

Palmerton-Palisades

Blake Oglialoro’s two goals sparked Palisades to a 5-0 Colonial League win over visiting Palmerton.

Hugh Salva, Lucas Bottelier and Mason Campbell all added single scores for the Pirates.

Palmerton falls to 0-2 overall (0-1 CL), while Palisades improves to 3-0 (1-0 CL).

GIRLS SOCCER

Northern Lehigh-Bangor

Rachel Bauer and Cadence Whalen both scored goals as Northern Lehigh picked up a 2-0 win over Bangor.

Goalie Aiyana Bosch made 12 saves to post the shutout for the Bulldogs.

NDGP-Northwestern

Northwestern cruised to a 6-0 Colonial League win over Notre Dame of Green Pond.

Lexi Venerra and Brook Balliet led the Tigers’ offense as both fired in two goals. Cammy Fitch and Paige Bissell each added single scores. Katie Brensinger, Sammy Bardonner, Cam Fitch, Marley Delillo, Bissell, and Balliet were all credited with assists.

Goalie Naomi Glassberg made three saves to record the shutout.

Northwestern jumps to 3-1 overall (1-0 CL), while Notre Dame GP falls to 0-1 (0-1).

Palisades-Palmerton

Palmerton doubled up Palisades for a 4-2 Colonial League victory.

Four different players found the back of the net for the Bombers (1-0 overall, 1-0 CL), as Nataly Walters, Cora Wentz, Ella Baumgardt and Riley Gerhard all posted scores. Sam Perloni and Emma Martinez both finished with two assists.

Bombers’ goalie Emma Snyder recorded six saves.

VOLLEYBALL

Lourdes-Lehighton

Lehighton rolled to a 25-17, 25-12, 25-22 Schuylkill League victory over Lourdes.

Madelyn Sofranko sparked the Indians with 12 assists and seven aces, while Mia Snyder posted five aces and five assists. Haley Ginder (six kills), Lily Kershner (four aces, four kills, five blocks), Amanda Burns (four kills) and Lyla Kershner (seven digs) also contributed to the victory.

Lehighton improves to 2-0 overall (1-0 SL), while Lourdes slides to 0-1 in the league.

Mahanoy Area-Panther Vy.

Natalie Vermillion led the way at the net with 11 kills as Panther Valley picked up a 27-25, 25-17, 25-10 Schuylkill League win over Mahanoy Area.

Morgan Orsulak added 14 assists and seven kills for the Panthers, while Riley McArdle had four aces, four kills and 10 digs.

Pleasant Valley-ES North

Pleasant Valley rolled to a 25-17, 25-10, 25-10 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over East Stroudsburg North.

The Bears got contributions from multiple players, including Brianna Bruckman (nine assists, two aces), Lexi Womack (eight kills, five digs), Sarah Ballek (five kills, three aces, two blocks, two assists), Nora Jones (six kills), Jackie James (five assists) and Maria Saitta (four digs, two aces).

Pleasant Valley moves to 2-0 overall (1-0 EPC), while ES North slips to 0-2 (0-2).

Shenandoah-Weatherly

Abby Paisley recorded 12 assists and nine service points as Weatherly posted a 3-1 victory over Shenandoah in Schuylkill League play.

Kelly Michaels recorded five kills and five digs for the Wreckers, while Becca Schell had five kills and six digs, and Taylor Davidovich chipped in seven assists.

Pottsville-Tamaqua

Pottsville knocked off Tamaqua in Schuylkill League action, 25-15, 25-2, 25-24.

Lacey Beers paced the Blue Raiders (0-2 overall; 0-1 SL) with 10 digs, while Rylie Lusch added three kills and two blocks.

Pottsville moves to 1-0 (1-0 SL) on the season.

GIRLS TENNIS

Pleasant Valley-ES South

Pleasant Valley picked up a 5-2 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over East Stroudsburg South on Monday.

The Bears (2-1) swept the four doubles matches. Emily Gately and Brinley Altemus posted a win at No. 1 doubles, while the teams of Brianca Pridham and Ryan Rosenberg, Molly Schaffner and Kassidy Shupp, and Ceceha Cordova and Carly Rebrig also scored wins.

Jordan Rosenberg added a victory at No. 3 singles for PV.

Pleasant Valley 5, ES South 2
