Schuylkill arrests

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported the following arrests in Schuylkill County.

• A Pottsville woman was cited after her dog bit a six-year-old girl, state police said.

On Aug. 15 at 7:37 p.m. the Pottsville girl was riding her bicycle along Upper Beechwood Avenue in Foster Township when a dog went under a fence and bit her on the right calf. She was taken to an area hospital for a puncture wood.

The dog’s owner, Lynn Zerbe, 51, of Pottsville, was cited for a dog law violation, police said.

• A Pottsville woman was cited for harassment with physical contact on Aug. 13 at 10:57 p.m., state police said. Police said Joyce Carmichael, 59, assaulted her son’s 24-year-old girlfriend from Pottsville. The incident happened in the 600 block of Stoney Run Road, North Manheim Township, police said.

• On July 27 at 12:39 a.m., troopers stopped a 2008 Hyundai Elantra at Nichols and East Railroad streets in Pottsville. The driver, Ronald Wilson, 52, of Pottsville, showed signs of impairment, police said. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, police said.
