Charankamal S. Thind, 37, of Vacavilla, California, was cited by state police at the Pocono barracks with failure to drive at a safe speed after a crash involving two tractor trailers at 12:08 a.m. Aug. 10 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Police said it happened at mile post 70.1 in Franklin Township when Thind’s rig struck the rear of the second rig, operated by Scott P. Grasso, 40, of Dupont. The vehicles were southbound at the time.

Police said Thind’s rig sustained disabling damages while the other trailer had minor damages to its rear bumper.
