State police at Hazleton are investigating the death of a 3-year-old child.

Troopers said on Saturday at 2:50 p.m. they were dispatched to 206-701 W. 24th St., Hazle Township, for a report of an unresponsive child. The child was discovered in bed with a man, who was asleep at the time.

The child was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers said an investigation is continuing and did not release any other details of the incident.
