Fundraiser benefits Panther Valley teen hurt in crash

The family of a 2022 Panther Valley graduate injured in a recent car crash are raising funds to help her recovery.

Chloe Englert was injured in a two-vehicle crash the morning of July 18 on Route 54 in Nesquehoning.

The 18-year-old from Summit Hill remains hospitalized. She has no medical insurance, according to her family.

Her cousin, Ava Kunkel, started an online fundraiser to help Englert as she recovers. The fundraiser is available at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-chloe-with-hospital-bills.

“She is nothing but a kindhearted soul. She would do anything to help anyone,” Kunkel wrote on the fundraiser.

The crash caused Englert to miss time at work and prevented her from having a graduation party.

State police said that wet roads contributed to the crash, which occurred around 5 a.m. on July 18.

Englert was a passenger in a vehicle whose driver lost control due to the conditions, crossed the center line, and struck another vehicle head-on.

The two drivers were also transported by ambulance. The driver of the vehicle Englert was riding in, 19-year-old Patrick Boyle of Coaldale, received traffic citations.
