Communities to host National Night Out events

It’s an event that promotes neighborhood spirit, along with police-community partnerships throughout the country.

Perhaps more importantly, it brings police and neighbors together to promote a true sense of community.

Several local municipalities are scheduled to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday in their respective communities.

Coaldale

Coaldale will host its National Night Out program from 6-8 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex Field, 121 W. High St (behind the fire company). In the event of rain, activities will be moved to inside the complex.

There will be free hot dogs and water while supplies last, and the C.H.O.S.E. Concession stand will be open.

Also expected to be on hand are Super Soft Ice Cream Truck; Magic with Jon Bonner; Justincredible Parties Balloon Animals; St. Luke’s University Health Network; Panther Valley Women’s Club; Safer Streets for Tamaqua’s Little Feet; PV Book Buggy; Hope and Coffee and more.

Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe’s National Night Out will take place from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Park at 101 E. Tenth St.

It’s being held on behalf of the Jim Thorpe Police Department and Jim Thorpe Community Watch.

All participants involved are asked to be set up by 5:45 p.m. if possible. Tables and chairs will be provided.

Upon arrival, stop by the registration table to receive an assigned table number along with an information packet.

The rain date is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Lehighton

Lehighton’s National Night Out will run from 6-8 p.m. in the Upper Park by the amphitheater.

The Lehighton Downtown Partnership will partner with the Lehighton Borough Police Department.

Those who attend can meet the Lehighton borough police officers and other first responders.

A free police-themed movie will be shown at 8 p.m. at the amphitheater.

Palmerton

Palmerton is set to hold its inaugural National Night Out from 6-8 p.m. in the borough park.

The Palmerton Police Department will host its first NNO campaign, which will feature an emergency vehicle display, car seat safety check, and an opportunity for the community to interact with its first responders.

Bobby Spadell from Colossal Radio will be set up in the park, providing music for the event.

Among the groups that will be on hand are the Palmerton Municipal Fire Company, Palmerton Community Ambulance Association, Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, Towamensing Volunteer Fire Company, Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company, Pennsylvania State Police, Beltzville State Park DCNR Rangers, Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Carbon County District Attorney’s Office, Carbon County Children and Youth, Carbon-Monroe-Pike Mental Health/Developmental Services; Carbon-Monroe-Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission; St Luke’s University Health Network; Lehigh Valley Health Network, American Red Cross, Reading Escapades/Math Explorers, PathStone Carbon County Child Development Center, Christman Realty, and Christina’s Reptiles and Animal Sanctuary.

The police department invites all residents of the Palmerton area to come to the event.
