Annual Meals Day

Monroe County Meals on Wheels Day fundraiser is being held on Aug. 20. This is the fourth year for the event. In 2019 the county commissioners designated the third Saturday in August as Monroe County Meals on Wheels Day.

The premise behind this fundraiser is that local businesses hold in-house fundraisers for the organization and also help to raise awareness about the important role Meals plays in the community.

Examples of some previous fundraisers are donating 25 cents from each hamburger sold or having a signature drink and donating a portion of the proceeds. Businesses can also just display the Meals on Wheels donation card by their check-out area.

Customers can use the QR code to make a donation directly to the organization. All participating businesses will receive a vinyl cling with the event logo to display in their window and show that they support Monroe County Meals on Wheels.

Any business interested in participating can contact Stacey Koeck, Special Events Coordinator, at skoeck@monoremeals.org or 570-424-8794
