Motorcyclist injured in crash with deer

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a crash in Rush Township. The crash occurred at 5:30 a.m. as the biker was traveling west in the 400 block of Ben Titus Road. A deer ran out in front of him and he couldn’t avoid hitting it. The victim had head and facial injuries and was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and St. Luke’s paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. The Hometown fire company responded with its fire police maintaining traffic control at the scene. State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
