Schuylkill approves 911 service contracts
At a public meeting Wednesday, Schuylkill County commissioners approved two 911 service contracts.
They are with Cova Corp. of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey, for the 88 Channel Audio Log Max Pro recording system that was purchased in 2008. The cost is $23,570 for one year, from Aug. 1, 2022, through July 31, 2023. There is no increase in the cost of the agreement, which has been in place since 2009.
The second contract is with Core Power, King of Prussia, for maintenance of the Eaton 48KW UPS. The cost of the agreement is $8,625 for one year, from Oct. 1, 2022, through Sept. 30, 2025.
Krater said the 3505/Prism System, which monitors automatic burglar and fire alarms, was purchased last year.
The Eaton 48KW provides backup power from the moment power goes out at the 911 center until the backup generator kicks in. The equipment is six or seven years old, he said.
