Nesquehoning borough has several open positions

Nesquehoning has several open positions like many other businesses as worker shortages continue across the nation.

RoniSue Ahner, borough secretary, said that the borough is looking for people to fill both paid positions, as well as positions on several committees and boards.

Recently, the borough announced openings in its water authority, as water operator/apprentice and office clerk.

The deadline to apply for these positions is July 15.

In addition, the borough continues to look for part-time police officers to add to its force; as well as interested volunteers to serve on the recreation commission, water authority board, zoning hearing board, planning commission and the newly formed blight committee.

Anyone interested in serving on a board or to apply for a position with the borough should contact the borough office during business hours at 570-669-6124 for the water department.

Letters of interest for any committees could also be sent to 114 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning PA 18240.

The borough has been in a rebuilding phase for the past several months, welcoming two new police officers and three new councilwomen.
