Music tributes, along with folk/rock, jazz and punk acts, will entertain fans in local and regional venues over the next couple of weeks.

In terms of movies, the Mahoning Drive-In Theater will host events catering to the VHS-loving crowd, as well as fans of Troma Entertainment’s horror comedies.

• Leonid & Friends, 8 p.m. July 8. Based in Moscow, Russia, Leonid & Friends performs the music of Chicago. The 11-piece band, which features director/founder Leonid Vorobyev, has released three “Chicagovich” albums.

• Hollywood Nights – The True Bob Seger Experience, 8 p.m. July 16. This 10-piece New Jersey-based band, featuring frontman Rick Murphy, performs the music of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

• Session Americana, 8 p.m. July 7. The folk/rock collective, formed circa 2004 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, features Billy Beard, Ry Cavanaugh, Dinty Child and Jim Fitting, among others. The group’s albums include “Northeast” and “Live at the Haybarn Theatre.”

• Doobie Others Band, 8 p.m. July 8. Hailing from Long Island, this Doobie Brothers tribute band consists of Pat Montefusco, Joe Torres, Jim Del, Ron Lovisa, Mike Quadrino, Ed Profet and Allan Korenstein.

• Billy Bauer Band: Tribute to Dave Matthews, 8 p.m. July 9. Formed in Bethlehem in 2006 as an acoustic duo, the act features Bauer, Chris Lorenzetti, Drew Somers and Steve Zalalas. The band, whose albums includes “So I Love” and “Maybe Tomorrow,” has opened for acts such as Third Eye Blind, Tim Reynolds and Gin Blossoms.

• Experience Janis: The Janis Joplin Show, 8 p.m. July 16. The tribute act, featuring CC Coletti, performs Joplin hits, as well as deep cuts.

• We May Be Right: Billy Joel Tribute, 7 p.m. July 16. The ensemble, performing the music of “Piano Man” Billy Joel, consists of Karl Dietel, Perry Andrews, Derek Davodowich, Luke Kessel, Andy Janowiak and substitute Jim Ruffi.

• Skyler Stabin, 7 p.m. July 7. A jazz pianist, songwriter and singer from Jim Thorpe, Stabin received Best Jazz Rhythm Soloist in the 2020 SteelStacks High School Jazz Band Showcase and was selected for the SteelStacks High School Jazz All-Star Band. A junior at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, Stabin is studying audio production and engineering, and is part of the Rose Record Label Group.

• Michelle Oram, 7 p.m. July 14. Oram, a vocalist, will perform, along with instrumentalists Paul Rostock, Skyler Stabin and Daniel Gonzalez.

• Drive-in VHS-Fest 666, July 8-9. Lunchmeat and Saturn’s Core Audio & Video join with The Mahoning Drive-in Theater for this event, which will include VHS, analog media and collectibles vendors. Actress Ginger Lynn, star of 1989’s “Satan’s Storybook“ and “Vice Academy,” will attend both nights, with Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher of The Found Footage Festival hosting the July 9 features. All movies will screen from vintage VHS tapes.” General gates open at 4 p.m. each day. Showtime at sundown.

• The Polar Express: Dylan & Gavin’s Rainbow Fundraiser, 6 p.m. July 14. Robert Zemeckis’ 2004 animated classic “The Polar Express” stars Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari, among others. Proceeds from the event will go to Dylan and Gavin’s Rainbow, which Lora and Dave Krum founded in memory of their two teenaged sons who fought battles with cancer. Showtime at Sundown.

• Troma-Thon 2022, July 15-17. Lloyd Kaufman, co-founder of Troma Entertainment film studio and director of many of the studio’s feature films, will attend all three days of the event. Film set to screen Friday and Saturday include three “Toxic Avenger” titles and 1988’s “Troma’s War.” Sunday brings the Tromadance 2022 Film Festival, an evening of Troma-selected independent films, shorts and music videos. General gates open at 6 p.m. each night. Showtime at sundown.

• Latin Fusion Fest, 2 p.m. July 9. The Sherman Theater and the Pocono Chamber of Commerce will hold this event in Courthouse Square. Celebrating the sights and sounds of Latin and Caribbean cultures, the event will include music, food and vendors.

• Circle Jerks, 8 p.m. July 9. Formed in Los Angeles in 1979, the punk band’s current lineup features Keith Morris, a co-founder and lead vocalist of Black Flag, along with Greg Hetson, Zander Schloss and Joey Castillo. The group released its sixth and most recent album, “Oddities, Abnormalities and Curiosities,” in 1995. 7 Seconds and Negative Approach will also perform.
