Woman from Atlanta charged in Polk assault

A 21-year-old woman from Atlanta, Georgia, is facing multiple charges filed against her by state police at the Lehighton barracks after they were called to a residence at 461 Lower Middle Creek Road in Polk Township at 8:26 p.m. June 17.

Jaelyn Doyle was arrested on charges of robbery, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. The charges are filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.

In an affidavit of probable cause, Trooper Drew Hoffman said when he arrived at the scene, a woman told him Doyle arrived at the scene with several other females and subsequently assaulted her, striking her several times in the face with a closed fist. Doyle then took the victim’s purse, wallet and cellphone, police said.

The trooper said Rivas sustained physical injuries in the face.
