Wallace excels at Rider University

Jim Thorpe graduate Lydia Wallace recently wrapped up a solid first season with the Rider University track and field team.

The team of Wallace, Oliva de la Torre Coca, Mackenzie Greenfield, and Stephanie Tomkowich took third place in the 4x800 relay at the ECAC Championships with their All-East honor earning time of 9:09.66.

The freshman also advanced to the 400m hurdles final during the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships previously, finishing fourth.

At the Penn Relays in April, the team of Wallace, de la Torre Coca, Teagan Schein-Becker, and Greenfield broke the 4x800 record with their third-place performance at 8:49.99.

While at Jim Thorpe, Wallace placed eighth in the Class 3A 300 hurdles in 46.73 as a senior. She was sixth in the Class 2A event as a sophomore, when she was the Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Female Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
