Towamensing supervisors approved a contract with Lehigh Asphalt of $161,000 for the roof at the township building Thursday.

A bid of $652,411 by Lehigh Asphalt was approved for road paving for four roads.

These roads are Pine Run, from Jefferson Street to Maxine Drive, La-Montage Drive and La-Belle Place from Whispering Drive to dead end, Koch Road, from Interchange Road to the bridge; and Stagecoach Road West, from Summer Mountain Road to Bartholomew Road.

The Pohopoco Bridge will be inspected by the state, which is done every two years.

Seventy-five percent of the cost of the inspection will be reimbursed.

The fire company asked for help with the cost of a replacement tanker. There are several requirements that will be addressed further in order to assist with this request.

The Lakeside Plaza land development plan has had no movement as the plan needs to be finished. The zoning board will look into this further.

Residents voiced concerns during the Towamensing Township Board of Supervisors meeting Thursday.

Resident Shelly Babinchak asked for assistance with a pipe that need to be repaired at Summer Mountain Road and Green Briar Drive. The township will take care of repairing this over the summer. The next meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be held at 7 p.m. July 7 at the township building, 120 Stable Road.
