The Berlinsville Braves dropped their season-opening Blue Mountain League game on Sunday, falling by an 8-6 score to the Avengers.

Pleasant Valley graduate Danny McEvoy started on the mound for the Braves and allowed just two hits and one earned run in his three innings of work. He walked two and struck out two.

Zach Day had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for Berlinsville, who scored three first-inning runs to take a 3-1 lead. The Braves also received a double and RBI from Owen Fischel, while Lehighton grad Logan Wentz chipped in with a hit.

For the Avengers, Chase Albus finished with two hits and scored three runs.
