Parryville roadwork, trees discussed

Parryville’s “income survey needs to be done soon,” council President Jason Smith said. Smith has asked residents not to contact his “personal cellphone about garbage bills and issues” since there is nothing he can do about them. They should call the 1-800 number on the bill.

Several potholes have been fixed around the borough, according to Donald Smith, and “South Fireline Road will be closed at some point in the near future for construction.”

Donald Smith expressed concerns over falling trees.

He said property owners need to take care of the trees on their property before they become a problem.

Jason Smith suggested the Zoning Committee take a walk around the borough to “identify problematic trees.”

The Parryville Fire Company will be hosting the funnel cake stand at the “Crusaders for a Cause” event being held at Palmerton Park from May 19-22.

There will be a community yard sale at Palmerton Park on May 28 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Their monthly breakfast will be held at the fire company on June 5 from 8-11:30 a.m.

A fire company community picnic and firetruck dedication will be held June 11 from 3-10 p.m.
