Northern Lehigh School Board recently approved the following personnel matters:

• Retirements of Jody Remaley, paraprofessional at Slatington Elementary, effective the end of the year, after 23 years of service, and Stephanie Beers, cook’s helper at Slatington Elementary, effective the end of the day June 8, after 28 years of service.

• Resignation of Sara Duncan, cook’s helper, effective April 1.

• Megan Starner, professional employee, special education teacher middle school, $66,575, effective Aug. 23.

• Brittany Warner-Maidman, temporary professional employee art teacher elementary schools, $62,075, effective Aug. 23.

• Sharon Kanas, cafeteria monitor, Slatington Elementary, $13.87 an hour, effective May 16.

• Transfer of Nicole Nightlinger, from teacher on special assignment to special education teacher middle school, at no change in salary, effective Aug. 23.

• Transfer of Rebecca Edwards from 10-month office paraprofessional high school, to 12-month office paraprofessional high school, at no change in salary, effective Feb. 7.

• Manuel Gonzalez, secondary coordinator, and Susan Beil, elementary coordinator, $6,290, completion program premium pay up to $1,000; Megan Farkas, Denise Minnich, Jessica Jones, Kassandra Beller, and Amy Dobie, paraprofessionals, hourly rate, completion program premium pay up to $750; Angela Everett and Katlyn Fake, instructors, Collective Bargaining Agreement current rate per hour, up to $1,000; and MaryAnn Mattiola, and Blasia Dunham, instructors, CBA current rate per hour, up to $500, as part of the summer program positions, to be funded through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund III grant.

• Amanda Grozier, paraprofessional, hourly rate, after-school program, to be funded through ESSER III After-School set aside.

• To conduct an Extended School Year Program for students with special needs from July 11-28. The program will run weekly, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Positions for the ESY program: Kayla Perkowski, Ryan Stilwell, and Tammy Fristick, instructors, CBA current rate per hour, up to $1,000; Stephanie Stilwell, Sheila White, Tara Hengst and Robin Blocker, paraprofessionals, hourly rate, up to $750.

• Jenn Haas as transportation paraprofessional for the extended school year program runs June 27-Aug. 5. Approve compensation for three hours per day at her hourly rate plus the completion program premium pay of $750.

• Jessica Jones, paraprofessional, 2021-2022 hourly rate, to middle school STEAM Camp position for the summer of 2022, to be funded through ESSER III B (Summer Enrichment).

• Talia Lewis, substitute teacher for the 2021-2022 school year at the 2021-2022 substitute teacher rates.

• Bus drivers/aides from Brandywine Transportation, Corrina Varliek and Kathleen Oswald, van drivers, to transport Northern Lehigh School District students for the 2021-2022 school year.

• Request of employee to take an unpaid medical leave of absence beginning on May 6 for medical reasons. The employee is requesting to use accumulated paid time off prior to unpaid days, and plans to return to their position upon release from their physician.

• Rescinded the motion appointing Anthony Tulio as an instructor for the summer program that was approved at the April 11 school board meeting.
