Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority (LANTA) will move to a mask-optional policy for riders and employees, effective immediately.

The decision was made following a Federal Court ruling concerning mask mandates, receiving communications from the TSA, and after consultation with several transit agencies in Pennsylvania.

“We will make every effort to communicate the policy change on buses, transit centers and in social media, as well as through mass media outlets,’ said Executive Director Owen O’Neil.

“From the start of the pandemic over two years ago, LANTA has adhered to and even exceeded guidance to ensure the best outcomes for our passengers and staff. We are particularly proud of our bus operators and staff for their help getting us through a challenging time, and are grateful to our riders for their cooperation,” O’Neil added.
