Motorists can expect lane restrictions as a bridge maintenance project gets underway on Route 54 in Rush Township.
According to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 5 spokesman Sean Brown, crews will replace the bridge deck on the bridge over Little Schuylkill River near Marian High School Road in Hometown. The stretch of road is known as Minzer’s Hill.
The project begins this week with daytime lane restrictions for shoulder restriction work. Flaggers will be between Marian High School Road and Kahler Avenue until April 25, Brown said.
“After that and until the completion two 11-foot lanes will be maintained on the structure. The project is set to be completed in December,” he said.
Traffic will be shifted but the bridge will be open.
