Blue Mountain president named Girl Scouts board member

The Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania announced that Barbara Green, of Lehighton, president of Blue Mountain Ski Resort, is a new board member at large.

Green has more than 30 years of business management experience.

In her current role as president, Green has doubled the resort’s revenue and made it a priority for the company to become a year-round resort and leader in exceptional guest services.

Green is a former Girl Scout and represents GSHPA’s northern footprint on many boards and committees including the executive board of St. Luke Carbon County, Carbon County Chamber of Commerce and as a new member of the GSHPA Finance and Audit Committee.

In recognition of Volunteer Appreciation Month, Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania is celebrating its all-volunteer board of directors.

“We are very excited to be working with our dedicated board leadership and members to continue making a difference in our local communities by building girls of courage, confidence and character,” said Janet Donovan, GSHPA president and CEO.

Other new board officers:

• Adrienne Vicari, Board Chair, of Enola, serves as the Financial Services Practice Area Leader for Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. She has a broad range of experience in financial, project management and engineering design services for municipal wastewater, water and stormwater clients.

• Alison Bernhardt, board vice chair, of Mount Joy, is Chief Financial Officer for UPMC Central PA.

Bernhardt has extensive experience in health care finances. Prior to her current role as CFO, she served as Vice President of Accounting and Reporting at UPMC Pinnacle, overseeing financial reporting, payroll, tax, treasury, accounts payable and asset management. Bernhardt also serves on the Executive Committee and as chair of the GSHPA Finance & Audit Committee.

Vicari and Bernhardt join fellow GSHPA Board Officers Secretary Jeshanah Fox and Treasurer Bridget Casher.

Other new board members at large are: Tena Maurer, of Hegins, Associate Vice President for Human Resources at Bloomsburg University, Maurer is a former Girl Scout and continues to volunteer with the organization as a troop leader for Daisy and Brownie troops.

Gina Suydam, of Tunkhannock, is the President/CEO of the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce where she works with a variety of businesses in rural northeastern Pennsylvania Suydam is a former Girl Scout and Gold Award recipient, and she also serves as a new member of the GSHPA Volunteer Strategy Committee.

Green, Maurer and Suydam join the following GSHPA board members-at-large: Anthony Billet, of York; Jayne Huston, of Harrisburg; Stacey Irwin, of Lancaster; Daren Russ, of Harrisburg; Daniel Sheaffer, of Halifax; Deborah Vereen, of New Cumberland and Judith Windom, of Camp Hill.
