Knit & crochet

Zion Lutheran church’s Knit & Crochet will gather at 1 p.m. Tuesday to ply their needles of caring.

New members are welcome. One does not need to know how to knit or crochet. Lessons will be freely given. Supplies are on hand also.

Touch of Home

Operation Touch of Home will have its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Legion post home in Gilbert.

PVEN needs

Current needs of the PVEN food pantry are canned pasta, tuna, rice and pasta sauce.

The clothing component of PVEN needs baby food, sheets and towels, bras and sports bras, paper towels and toilet paper.

Due to the decrease in COVID-19 cases, PVEN has reopened its food pantry and clothing closet for walk-through appointments.

Drive-thru appointments are still available for those who are not yet ready to walk through just yet.

Food and clothing donations are still accepted with no change in policy.

All clients and volunteers are still asked to wear a mask during their entire time at PVEN.

Warehouse sale

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has announced a warehouse sale of the newest products, including refrigerators, stoves, grills bathtubs, flooring, siding, outdoor tables and chairs, etc.

Earth Day event

Monroe County Conservation District and Monroe Campus Northampton Community College in Tannersville announce an 2022 Earth Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 23.

Organizations, businesses and local agencies throughout Monroe County have organized a countywide event to celebrate the conservation successes of the past 20-plus years in Monroe County.

The day includes musical entertainment featuring Scotty Crosby, Starboard Sparrows, Earth Song and The Lost Ramblers.

There will also be children’s activities and tire amnesty sponsored by The Waste Management Authority, speakers and exhibits highlighting local environmental business, organizations and agencies.

Admission is free.
