Tamaqua library roof replacement begins

Crews from Kulp Roofing and Construction Inc. began replacing the roof on the Tamaqua Public Library on Monday.

The roof at the 30 S. Railroad St. building began leaking recently, prompting staff to cover books and tables with tarps.

Officials determined that the only way to protect the library collection, patrons and staff was to replace the roof.

The work will not impact the library’s normal hours of operation. Parking is not available in the lot but is available nearby.

Donations for the library roof fundraiser, hosted by the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership, can be made online at https://bit.ly/3IoEFcS.
