A 62-year-old Palmerton man is the victim of a theft by deception attempt made by an unknown suspect.

State police at Lehighton said they were called at 5 p.m. March 24 to a property on Stagecoach Road West in Towamensing Township where the victim reported someone filed an unemployment compensation claim in his name.

In a similar case, a 61-year-old Jim Thorpe man was the victim of the similar unemployment claim.

Police said they were called at 2 p.m. March 17 to a property along Primrose Lane in Penn Forest Township to investigate the illegal claim.

Police said neither man sustained any monetary losses in the incidents.
