A man has been charged with assault and drug charges after a fight broke out inside a barroom and made its way outside to the parking lot.
The Pennsylvania State Police Lehighton barracks charged Reece Heiney, 23, of Palmerton.
At 2:55 a.m. March 12, police were called to the Blue Mountain Pub, Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township and met with the victim, who had a cut at her mouth, was missing a right front tooth and had a chipped left front tooth.
The victim said that she was working her shift when a fight broke out in the barroom, and then made its way to the parking lot on the west side of the building.
She went outside and Heiney, 23, ran at her, and Heiney shoved her in the back, knocking her face down on the ground. Heiney fled the scene in a red sedan.
Police went to an apartment in the 700 block of Oak Street, where Heiney answered the door.
Police said there was a strong odor of fresh marijuana. Heiney said nothing happened but he had blood and scrape marks on his hands.
Heiney was placed under arrest. A search revealed three baggies of green marijuana within his left front pocket, which Heffner seized and secured.
The marijuana was weighed at the barracks and came in at 18 grams.
Heiney faces charges on two counts of simple assault and one count each of possession of marijuana, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment, disorderly conduct, and recklessly endangering another person.
He is currently free in lieu of $50,000 unsecured bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing March 23 before District Judge William J. Kissner of Palmerton.
