West End Pantry is seeking donations of individually wrapped Easter candy and trinkets to help the pantry to make 300 Easter baskets for low-income children in the surrounding communities.
“We plan to fill small and large plastic eggs, depending on the size of the candy and we need enough candy and trinkets to fill 300 baskets,” said pantry volunteer Shirley Crum.
Once we have enough candy and little trinkets we will fill the eggs with candy and trinkets and then shrink wrap the baskets, she said.
“Donations need to be dropped off at 516 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown, or by calling 570-730-6055, and they need to be dropped off by April 8, so the volunteers have enough time to fill the baskets,” said West End Pantry Director Karena Thek.
The baskets are free for pantry clients and you need to call 570-730-6055 to place an order for each child in your family.
The baskets will be distributed from 9 a.m. until noon April 2 during the regular food pantry hours.
The Easter baskets will be distributed in a separate area in the pantry and each child will receive a ticket to receive their basket.
