Police called to KidsPeace facility

State police at Bethlehem reported investigating to separate assault incidents at a juvenile facility in Lehigh County.

Troopers said on Feb. 20 at 12:15 a.m. they responded to KidsPeace Hospital, Kidspeace Drive, in North Whitehall Township, for a assault. An investigation revealed a 14-year-old boy from Orefield, struck, bit and punched three employees at the facility identified as a 33-year-old man from Lehighton; a 37-year-old woman from Palmerton; and a 40-year-old man from Whitehall.

On Feb. 26 at 9:39 p.m. troopers responded to the KidsPeace location for another report of an assault. It was determined that a 14-year-old man from Allentown assaulted two female mental health technicians, by striking them repeatedly in the face. Both were injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for treatment. They were identified as a 28-year-old from Slatington and a 46-year-old from Allentown.
