Junior Girl Scout Troop 540, Slatedale, has emerged as a $3,000 winner in a nationwide sweepstakes competition sponsored by Hershey products late last year.

Don Lear, special markets sales manager for Hershey Chocolate USA, said the troop was among 40,000 organizations entered in the sweepstakes.

He said troop members sold 50 cases, or 3,000 Hershey candy bars, under the direction of leader Laurie Metrick, and will be awarded the winning prize next week by the Haney Fund Raising organization, Allentown.
