Monroe state police report drug, gun sweep

Members from Troop N of Pennsylvania State Police conducted Operation Monroe County Drug Arrests, Warrants and Guns, known as “Operation McDawg” on Jan. 14, 21, 28 and Feb. 1.

Members took part in the campaign to take guns off the streets and bring wanted people to justice while increasing public safety.

This initiative utilized various assets of the Pennsylvania State Police and resulted in the following:

? 129 traffic citations and 161 traffic warnings

? 10 drug related arrests (methamphetamine, marijuana, amphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, various pills)

? 22 DUI arrests

? 1 gun seized

? 15 arrest warrants served

? 2 recovered stolen vehicles

? 1 aggravated assault arrest

? 1 false identification to law enforcement arrest

? 1 drug related search warrant on a residence resulting in two additional arrests.
