At the annual meeting of the Schuylkill County Dairy Herd Improvement Association held recently in the Pitman Fire Company hall, the herd of Albert Miller and Dennis Rex, Andreas R.1, received top honors for their herd production records during 1979.

The Miller and Rex herd finished the year with an average production of 19,307 pounds of milk and 753 pounds of butterfat per cow. They also received the trophy for the highest milk production for their cow, “Cookie,” who produced 27,999 pounds of milk during the year.

The award for the cow with the highest butterfat went to Heisler Brothers, Tamaqua R.1, whose cow “Debbie” had a production record of 1,028 pounds of butterfat during the year.
