Tamaqua driver cited after Lehigh crash

A Tamaqua driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:54 a.m. on Monday along Route 100 in Lowhill Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said David W. Bower, 52, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2005 Toyota Tundra truck southbound near Narris Road, when he lost control on a right curve during inclement weather, and traveled over a bridge.

The truck then began to rotate clockwise and continued forward until it went onto the berm with the front end hitting a tree.

Upon impact with the tree the truck continued its clockwise rotation until it came to rest adjacent to a tree facing north.

Bower was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
