Lehigh County Crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks report on the following crashes:

• A mailbox was damaged in a hit-and-run crash at 10:25 a.m. Nov. 28 on Rextown Road in Washington Township. Police said the vehicle that left the scene after hitting the mailbox near Grant Street.

• Police were summoned at 2:03 p.m. Nov. 28 to investigate a crash on Heil Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said a vehicle crashed off the northern edge of the road. Police did not release other details.

• Brandon J. Fitzpatrick, 25, of Slatedale, was cited with failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 7:17 p.m. Nov. 24. Police said he was driving a 2000 BMW west on Main Street in Washington Township when it left the northern edge of the road and struck a utility pole. He was not injured.

• Brandon J. Zellner, 19, of Slatington, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:19 a.m. Dec. 24 on Glencrest Road in Washington Township.

He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, by the Northern Valley EMS personnel.

Police said he was driving a 2013 Kia Forte west when he lost control of the car due to extremely icy conditions.

The vehicle struck a utility pole before coming to rest in the right lane of travel.
