Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Dec. 16 with 19 members in attendance. The meeting was opened with the reading “The Ultimate Gift.”

Grace Sakusky was added to the sick list and guest Sharon Roth was given a warm welcome.

Everyone was wished a Merry Christmas and happy and healthy New Year!

The next meeting will be held on Jan. 6. The group meets on Thursdays at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Bayberry candle sale

“Legend has it that the burning of the bayberry candles during the yuletide season would bring wealth and good luck throughout the year. May the legend come true for you. May you and your family have a Merry Christmas, and may wealth and good luck make yours a truly Happy New Year.”

The Spirit of Christmas Committee has bayberry candles for sale. They can be purchased at Hope & Coffee Shop or the Tamaqua Arts Center in Tamaqua or Petal Pushers Floral in Hometown.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. The service is available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua. There will be no Sunday school until further notice.

Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.
