Monroe County man indicted on drug trafficking, gun charges

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that on Nov. 16, 2021, Malik Adoyi, 24, of Stroudsburg, was indicted by a federal grand jury for drug trafficking and firearm offenses.

According to United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, the indictment charges Adoyi with five counts of distribution of heroin and fentanyl, one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl between July 16 and Nov. 10, 2021, in Monroe County, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm on Nov. 10, 2021.

The matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and its state and local law enforcement partners in Monroe County. Assistant United States Attorney Jeffery St John is prosecuting the case.

This case was brought as part of a district wide initiative to combat the nationwide epidemic regarding the use and distribution of heroin and fentanyl. Led by the United States Attorney’s Office, the Heroin Initiative targets heroin traffickers operating in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and is part of a coordinated effort among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who commit heroin related offenses.
