Two pupils in St. Mary of the Assumption Parochial School, Coaldale, walked off with top honors in the annual CYO speech tournament held Saturday at Marian High School.

Awarded first place honors were Thomas Macenka, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Macenka, 18 W. High St., Coaldale, and Ann Schaefer, 13, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schaefer, 24 W. High St., Coaldale.

Over 100 elementary pupils from 16 area parochial schools took part in the daylong declamation program. Judges for the final round were attorneys William B. Quinn, Thomas Durnin, W. Joseph Engler, Joseph Greco and John Linderman.
