The annual Bo Tkach Foundation 5K Turkey Trot will be held Thanksgiving Day in Palmerton.

The race starts at 9 a.m. in the Palmerton Borough Park located at Third Street and Delaware Avenue, and proceeds throughout town.

Awards are given out to the top male and female overall, as well as top three males and females in each age category, including 13-and-under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-plus.

Participants are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the local food pantry.

Proceeds from this race/walk benefit the Bo Tkach Foundation providing mental health counseling funding, scholarships, and educational presentations on suicide prevention, OCD and depression.

Over 878 runners/walkers registered in 2019 for the event, making it the largest race in the foundation’s history.
